This project is intended to build squirrel nesting boxes. These items are used for various reasons, including making nests for infant squirrels and for giving clinic animals privacy in order to reduce stress. They are also given to volunteers who wish to provide squirrel habitat in their backyard.
A copy of building plans is included to help you in your mission. Contacting local hardware stores and lumber yards is a good way to collect wood and supplies. Every donation made is tax deductible. If a person wishes a receipt, simply write down their name and address and the Wildlife Center staff will send out the necessary tax forms.
Signs or a small ad in newsletters, bulletins, and mailings is a great way to get the word out about your project.
