Martha, Great Horned Owl: Martha came to the ARLWC in June of 2005. She was admitted with a fractured humerus on the right side. Because the injury was already at least a week old, it had started to heal improperly. Martha is not able to fly, so she cannot be released.
Facts on Great Horned Owls: Great Horned Owls are the largest owl in PA. The are often called “Tigers of the Night” because they are voracious hunters. Great Horned Owls prey on small mammals and birds in the woods. The are frequent visitors to backyards and farms.

Martha is an Animal Ambassador for our Animals of the Night and Regal Raptor education programs. We also offer a general program on Wildlife Rehabilitation.
Book a program now and ask for Martha.
