Frank Bean, Domestic Pigeons:  Frank Bean was found in downtown Pittsburgh and brought to the Wildlife Center by Animal Control.  He were abandoned by his owner, and had lost significant weight.  Domestic pigeons are not the same as wild pigeons; these birds cannot fend for themselves in the wild.  Frank Bean was kept at the Wildlife Center for education because of his tameness and good personality.

Facts on Wild Pigeons:  Pigeons are considered feral or accidentals, meaning they hail from another area and have taken residence somewhere else.  Pigeons are originally from Asia.  They are found living worldwide in cities, farms, cliffs, and bridges.  They can live 10-15 years.
