Buckeye (Buck), Eastern Screech Owl: Buck joined the ARLWC Education Department in September of 2005. He was a victim of human imprinting. Buck cannot be released because he would not know how to properly care for himself in the wild.
Facts on Eastern Screech Owls: Eastern Screech Owls live 12-15 years in the wild. They can be found in open woodlands, parks, and neighborhoods. These owls are nocturnal and hunt for mice, frogs, insects, and fish in the night. There are three distinct color phases in the Eastern Screech Owl, red, gray, and brown.

Buck is an Animal Ambassador for our Animals of the Night and Regal Raptor education programs. We also offer a general program on Wildlife Rehabilitation.
Book a program now and ask for Buck.
